The Rye Summer Classic Series is a popular series of three Friday evening events and returns in 2022 for its 17th year. Featuring two 10k races and a final season-ending 5k. The event takes place within the stunning Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, one of Britain’s most important conservation sites. The race is a chance to see the rare coastal landscape, covering a mosaic of interlocking shingle ridges, saltmarsh, intertidal grazing, reed-beds and saline lagoons. The route is on a traffic-free road on the main concrete road through the reserve. The course is accurately measured, fast and flat and, if the weather is fine, a perfect opportunity for a PB. The event is family friendly and, in addition to the main 10k race, there is a short Children’s Race too. You can enter a single race or save money by purchasing a three-race season ticket or a series entry. Race start times The race will start promptly at 7.30pm with the Children’s race starting at 7.15pm. The Route This accurately measured course is a fast and flat, out and back route along the concrete road through Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. When conditions are favourable, it can make for some fast times - but, be prepared, it can be windy!
