Gemma Geffrey - Chairwoman Chairwoman Gemma Jeffrey
I started running in 2011 on a whim one day and after spending £50 on a pair of trainers, decided that I couldn’t not go on a run as I had spent the money!  So I went out and only went about 1.5 miles but that first run started a journey that I could never imagine where it was going to take me.  A year and a half later following a recommendation from a previous member, I decided to take the plunge and join Harriers and have never looked back.  Early on, I wanted to get more involved and decided to help out on the Whitstable 10K and found that I very much enjoyed it.  The following year I took the plunge and joined the committee where I found a great amount of pleasure being part of this club that I had come to love.  I was getting more and more involved with the committee and then following Peter Yarlett’s decision to step down after 5 years I was approached and asked if taking on the role of chairwoman was anything that I would consider and after a few weeks thought I decided that this would be a brilliant opportunity and a chance to show my love for the club even more.  The last 2 years has not been without its challenges but I have loved it, and I am looking forward to seeing who takes on the role next year and where we can go from here.

Treasurer Tim Richardson-Perks
I am proud to have been a Harrier for 19 years – I joined in 2001 (I think!). In that time, I have been Club Secretary, Treasurer, Race Director, Chairman, Reims Captain and now I am having a second shot at Treasurer. Running wise I specialised in Marathons completing 69 full marathons and countless halves, 10 and 20 milers and the odd 10k as part of my build up training. I have retired from running these days but still enjoy cycling, keeping fit, and the occasional drink with the Wetherspoons crowd. My biggest achievement as a Harrier is that I am in the elite group of Harriers who have been bought a drink by Steve Clark.

Administration Officer Roy Gooderson
Roy is one of just three founder members still active in the club and has been part of many running trips abroad for the club. These include Ireland, Holland, the Czech Republic and his biggest running achievement being the only runner to have finished The Le Touquet 10K in France for 28 years consecutively.

Roy is the race director for The Blean Woods Cross Country and has many behind the scenes club jobs such as ordering trophies, acquiring club equipment, paying club bar bills etc. He is also a long term race commentator for events like The Whitstable 10K, Canterbury 10 and Thanet Marathon.

Harriers Quiz Night Manager since 2009
London Marathon Coach Manager since 2015

I took up running a few years before joining the club to lose weight and started doing a few races (Sturry Fun Run, Herne Bay Half) to give me something to aim for. Then I was offered a place in the 1992 London Marathon along with a friend. We did it again in 1993 together with a Harrier friend of his who was always pestering me to join the club, which I did once I had stopped commuting to London. And the rest as they say, is history! I’ve enjoyed the camaraderie and all aspects of club running, long and short distances, road races but I guess my favourite has turned out to be cross country! There have been many highs and a few lows but my only real regret is buying Tim that pint down Wetherspoons in 2014. A reckless moment of over-generosity!

Press Officer & Runners Rep Melanie Christodoulou
Melanie Christodoulou has been a member of the club since 2014.  Her favourite races have been the Vitality London 10000 and the London Marathon.  She is a Runners Representative and so can be approached on any comments, concerns or ideas that club members may have.  She attends the club on both Tuesday and Thursday sessions and so is easily accessible for a chat.  Melanie is also the Press Officer for the club which means that she reports race results and photos to the Kentish Gazette for inclusion in the local newspaper.

Kit Officer Fiouse Corbeil
Fiouse (Fuse) joined Canterbury Harriers in July 2017 after a lifetime of running on his own on and off. He decided to join the Harriers to run with like-minded people and be more motivated. He was impressed to see how much hard work The Committee was putting in behind the scenes for a club of 150 runners to run so smoothly. As time went on, he agreed to take on a Runners Representative position, and also became Kit Officer to be able to give back to such a wonderful club. His favourite club events include the KFL Cross-Country races, the 10K Club Championship and the many social runs organised throughout the year. You can talk to him any time about club queries, and if you need Club Kit, he’s your man.

Runners Representative Tina Jones
I am lucky enough to have been a member of Canterbury Harriers for about 14 years and I have been on the Committee for 10 years. I have enjoyed some modest success during my time at the club but I am slowing down a bit now. My success is all due to the friendship and encouragement of my fellow club members and that of Gerry Reilly who was head coach until very recently. I really enjoy the winter cross country season and the inter club summer relays together with the many social events in the club’s calendar. I have a qualification as a leader in running fitness and help out with coaching when I am needed. I might be a bit slower nowadays but I hope I can continue for a while longer enabling me to be a part of a very friendly and supportive club.
